A Mother's Song
I do hate
these pants
with the panel
that stretches,
balloon-like,
to cover
my babyfat
belly.
At least
when they're tossed
in the hamper
they sprong back,
as taut and as flat
as the day
they enthralled me,
rack after rack,
at Mamas-To-Be.
But that was
five months
and some 30 pounds
lighter, when feet
still existed
and mirrors
were my friend.
They tell me
my abs will,
with crunches,
return to
the steel-like
stomach of
pre-pregnancy.
But I have
my doubts,
so I think
I'll go open
a quart of vanilla
and sing soft
lullabies
of what
he will be.

Thoughts of love
From a guys point of view, I think that everything a girl is and does is cute. And I believe that the things that they think aren't perfect about them, is place to come together about. And then it's like saving each other. The guy saves the girl from thinking anything bad about herself, and the girl saves the guy from there being any kind of thinking that he thinks anything bad about her. And then they get to find out the love and truth about each other together. And it also is something between them, that gets to be just for them and personal.
