Different Roads

You say you love her
But you love your life with me as well
We both love the road
But the roads we take are different
The candle burns bright
But then the candle dies

Her eyes are something beautiful
And we take walks in the rain
You hold me close before you return
And she knows not of my pain

Memories fade like the blackness
That pervades each and every night
You used to hold me but not anymore
I can feel that loss down inside
The little light of hope fades
And it was all too short lived
So still you went away
And all I did was give...all I did was give

I enjoyed your poem as these are the type of memories that love
can leave when unrequited! No matter how much a person gives,
sometimes love: "memories fade like the blackness/That pervades each
and every night/"! Nice poem of unrequited love gives reality and
heart to this conflict of love!
