Gone

She sat in the corner, quite as always
With her legs folded under her
She was staring into the emptiness in front of her
Not taking in anything of her surrounding

If she would have just looked
Maybe given a bit more attention
She would have seen him
She wouldn’t have felt so alone

To think only a glance his way
Would have given it all away
All that he was feeling
All his emotion could have been seen on his face

For anyone passing by
But she didn’t see any of it
She felt too sad, too alone to look
To even bother to see if anyone cared

And then she stood up and walked away
Away from him to go back home
By the next morning this place would only be a memory for her
And for him the place he had last seen the girl that stole his heart
