Nobody
I am nobody.
I cannot be peaceful, still, and just
For I have no restlessness to cease.
No will for peace, no thoughts or dreams,
No stars to rest on silver wings.
I cannot learn, I cannot teach
I cannot scratch or bruise or tear
I cannot heal or feel or grow,
I cannot know, I cannot fear.
I cannot sing, I have no songs
No music here to keep me tall
I have no dreams or thoughts or hopes
I’ve no mistakes. I cannot fall.
I have no sun or moon or trees,
I have no night, no day, no brain,
I have no future, past, or present;
Nothing warm to keep me sane.
I have no soul, I cannot think,
I have no feet, no will to walk,
I have no heart, I cannot love,
I cannot want, I cannot talk.
I do not yearn, I do not wish
I’m unaware of life I’ve missed,
Yet there is hope inside my heart
From the fire of a star
That doesn’t exist.

interesting poem...

The point of view of this poem is unique for sure! Your imagery is
very clear and forthright, yet sings a song of a strange passion, or
need! With the constant phrase "I cannot..." seems to be an armour
or protection form some hurt or pain or indignity! Yet, I also sense
these words are from a heart that refuses to be a victim of other's
pain! At any rate, this poem is quite unique with an incredible twist
of imagination at the end!
