Blindly
Crowded city
Ballyhoo of distractions
Carried away by a wave
Of unconscious reactions
Long to dissipate into the epicenter
A shadow that scatters
A ghost which haunts
Wearing a face of invincibility
And snare integrity
Even if deep inside you care nothing
About the ideals incessantly preached
Reaching for a hand that
Understands your dilemma
Perhaps they'll empathizes
More often, they'll scrutinize
But it's a risk
You must take.
Overcaffeinated
Inhaling carcinogenic nicotine
Hopefully exhaling negativity
But as they bustle
Engrossed in conversation
You sit frozen
Entranced in observation
Picking up vibrations
They stare through your eyes
Hollow once whole
Sometimes, it's so damn cold
You wanna burrow further into a hole
But you can't
You must lust for communion
It's a quest that deserves a thoughtful answer
Maybe tomorrow
Today we wonder
Blindly.
