God Forbid

God Forbid
If we bow our heads in prayer
Believe what's inside
Instead of what we see
The decline of humanity.

God Forbid
If some of us
Don't aspire to be hustlers
Scheming and weaseling out of responsibility
Manipulating compassion
While coveting deceit

God Forbid
If some of us
Prefer a quiet life
Work hard, raise a family
And not contribute to the ills
Reveling in the decadence
Intent on destroying beauty
While claiming immunity
We hope one day
You'll understand
That is, if you survive.

God Forbid
If we don't believe in war
Sons and daughters
Are not toy soldiers
Whether its about oil, money or greed
You can't put a prize
On the sanctity of human life
But you don't care
You're not bleeding.

Free will can either be a blessing or a curse.
