A Requiem

I've lusted for your forget,
all to no such avail.
Indignantly, I dig through
citadels of regret, malice,
and my tendency to always fail.
Take the short end, reduce it to
absurdity, and give me my
securtiy, as you would see me.
When you finally, remorsefully
left I had already kindled
the dwindling light, for
all of it's pathetic life.
No long deceased, this
dull wick is me, fading away to
the ashes, among the plains,
and their perpetuity. Oh, in the
beginning, my heart was your
pillow, rest ye sweet, innocent eyes,
close with certainty and regress
into thine. Now since long deceased,
I'd covet for such redemption
from once plesant, fullfilling
memory. But, let it rest in the
ashes, and be swept away to
obscure eternity. Let it rest
and burn to be out of reach.
Let it rest, ye angel
and savor our memory
to the last breath.
