Congress, Dearest,
What has happened to our nation,
Have you lost imagination?
Do we need a mock election"
And, legislation....
You are stuck in conflagration
like some animal extinct,
giving up on every fight,
a pleading, plodding herd, distinct
with sagging shoulders,
dragging feet.
You are marching to a different beat,
not the one we voted for,
not the one to stop the war!
You have unanimously become,
sometimes startled,
sometimes numb,
too busy pimping,
raising funds.
Important issues on the table?
Simply ditched or thrown away.
Why does it look like treason
when you vote the way you do?
We know that you are able
to use good sense and reason.
Committees here,
committees there,
the good results are very spare,
we wonder if you're really there.
Quite frankly, the situation
is causing consternation
and isn't what we bargained for,
Furthermore,
for the duration,
it is We the People
whom you work for.
Your house in in an awful mess,
the Constitution needs review,
read it through a time or two,
maybe even memorize,
rather than a hurried guess.
"If I'd known then what I know now"
(that holy mantra, sacred cow)
is one excuse we won't allow>
Dearest Congress,
while your'e at it,
bring to light
the Rule of Law,
the Bill of Rights!
Contemplate, investigate and
bring those guilty up for trial.
Note: to be rehired,
some assembly is required,
and all the while.....

You truly are sincerely ours.

P.S. a solution for pollution
might make nice across the aisle.

push ahead that extra mile.
