Ghosts

Sitting down one Sunday evenning
Staring down the Sunset's gaze
He's startled once again by laughter
He traces it back to his daughter's face
She came running to her daddy-
Seven years of life smiled on her daily
She's dancing to the beat of her own drummer
Raising her hands up with her laughter
Raising memories in her father
Of a day much like this, of when he was younger...
A Sunday evenning, left back 16 years...
The night he saw his only partner
The one who bore the one who stares-
at his tear-filled dark-green eyes
"You look so much like your mother..."
Is all he can say to her seated on the steps
"That night, I loved your mother...
amazing that she loved me back...
but she was dancing just like you were,
your dancing brought her memory back.
Never forget, I loved your mother
and everyday I to have her back.
Please-get up and keep dancing
before she returns to heaven,
for just tonight you can dance with her...
because just now,
God gave her back."

Beautiful

Beautiful. Simply beautiful.
