I have a goal in mind
I’m finished lagging behind
It’s time to suck in all I am meant to be
Now is the time for the whole world to see
I licked that fear and it ran away

There are things I should say now

I need to get over the excuse that I do not know how

If anything I say too much

I use all these words as an overworked crutch

I open my eyes and dwell upon the sunrise

For one last time I absorb what I used to adore

As the morning awakes I wipe the sleep from my mistakes

I am having another one of those dreams
One where everything is what it seems
I catch all the lies I am told
Into the system I have not been sold
My soul is not spiritually chained to a wall

There are things as humans we are not meant to understand
Like why Mother Nature would allow destruction beyond what we can comprehend
Yet we can grasp what it means to lose
