seemingly innocuous

a young man
standing outside
the
80th avenue
train station
sneezes

followed quickly
by the
blessing
of a
passerby

a
stranger

seconds later
the same young man
rushes to the aid
of an
unknown
commuter

a young woman
on crutches

soaking wet
struggling to slog
through
the rain

unsolicited
he opens
the door
for her

which sadly
and
clearly
she had not
expected

a heartfelt
thanks
is spoken

would he have
done this
had he not
just been
blessed himself

made to feel
good
by an expression
of
well wishes
from
another

i don't know

but
i like to think
i had
just seen
a
random act of kindness
spur someone
to
pay it forward

and that
this
could be
the start
of
something big
