Wisdom Returning
Even as a kid
goin to Chicago
I could see the forests
On the way
And similiar to this concept
Is the metropolis
Absent of the animals
Absent of the foliage
But theirs is a foliage
of steel
And animals
Of ever present humanity
Large beasts of engine and
gasoline
They move quickly, and bustle
the birds will sing their song
as the mobile giants
tear through soundwaves
with their horns
the monkeys will dance in the trees
as the gateways of Babylon
Dance over them
Ever in contempt
in what wisdom we have lost
And in the days of the old
Nobody ever saw it coming
Nature in its full return
Rebuilding
Recapturing
Reanimating
Growing over all
that we so arrogantly
sought to create
What we have taken away from them
we have taken from ourselves
And what is lost will return
In waves of shocking realization
