Hope
a tiny seed takes root,
fertilezed by efforts to progress,
this tiny seed planted shallow,
with intent to be put to the test
hope is an elusive leaf,
floating down from limb to limb,
branches serve to bed its drop,
caught only by the wind
goodbyes are marked
like rings on trees:
permanent fixtures that
sail on through the breeze
a memory is a
converging of time,
the past, present and future,
necessary to grow, like water or sunshine
gratitude can be an
overwhelming force,
like waves in the river that
need to run their course
hope is an elusive petal,
hanging from the stem,
detaching almost effortlessly,
can't be captured, never can
a tiny seed takes root,
an unfamiliar task,
a step into unknown woods,
set out into a journey so vast
brand new eyes and
growth into new life,
ripples in the pond,
that flow into the light
