Prison Of Pain

the protagonist is here, she's
dancing in the rain, the
heroine of the story, in her
prison of pain

bars that paint the picture,
of violence here to stay,
drops that illustrate my words,
they're taking her away

she reaches for the script,
for as the story goes, the
illness that's haunting her,
is starting to show

she clears her throat,
'KEEP ME IN YOUR BOOK OF SHAME,
IMMORTALIZE MY DROWNING IN THIS
PRISON OF PAIN'

she reaches for the script,
for as the story goes, the evil
that's inside of her, holds her
captive in its throes

bars that paint this figure,
of torment on her throne,
pieces that compile her outline,
they're etching her in stone

the leading lady's here,
she's all but gone insane,
sure we all have a story about our
prison of pain...
