Am I to strong,To bold,to independent
To sure of who I am,Am I saying I have no need
Are you strong enough to stand beside me,
enough to stand up to me.Can you both follow and lead
If I should stand my ground,exert my will,against what you believe
Would there be a compremise,or would you
feel threatened and the need to leave
I am not questioning myself,just who you perceive me to be.What image do I portray
Oh God let it be my strengths not my weaknesses that make you want to stay
I need to know you have the courage,the strength and will not crumble,when I demand what shouldn't be
When I stand firm,showing no sign of relenting
Can you stand up to me

The only ones to try to take it away would be the ones threatened by it.They may be fun to play with but no lasting power to stay with.

I too would like to have love at my side.I have had it,he died and I miss it BUT I will not
compromise what is me to have it.Repenter my friend don't sell yourself short,you do not need to make yourself over to have a man love you.compromise on issues in life but not on who you are.You deserve the best and so does your little girl.Try judgeing a man for the way he makes you feel about yourself not by adding to his ego.

Concerning your reply to Repenter...you are 100% right in everything you said here.
And, Repenter, my dear, if I say may this...never compromise yourself in any way. Stand strong - always! - and never let a man take advantage, because some men will. Let the man you're with be strong in his own way, and you be strong in yours.
Gloria is right...compromise on issues. But never compromise yourself.
