Waitress

I'm the friendly waitress with the smile on her face
The one that's always on the go,not going any place
The one you men turn to when you feel free to roam
And I softly lie and whisper I have someone waiting at home
For home is really an empty place, just a lonely room
With memories of heartache, loneliness and gloom
You don't see this as I wink and play your game
And I know at closing time i'll be lonely just the same
Yes,I'm that little waitress, joking and shining bright
Somehow that only fills half my night

Good poem, Freespirit

I'm one of those men who have sat in diners and flirted with the waitresses, wondering who they were and what their lives were like once they left work.
Now I know! LOL
