Viadanésé Sun

As the growing fields of green glow gold,
I ran chasing the crystal sky.
Thousands of grape-vine soldiers; behold!
Watching me run with a keenful eye.

Garrison’d in lines flawless,
Watching too; the Viadanesé Sun,
Western Wind with its mouth jawless,
All behind watching me run.

And I ran and I ran
Past the sea of soil
Where I can where I can
Reap my seed of toil.

And I ran past that barren ground
Searching for my quest unknown.
Whilst the other me want’d to be found
Searching for the seed I’ve sown.

But off to the East I flee,
(In through the grape-vine soldiers; behold:
Muscular wooden arms of bold!)
Abandoning the other side of me.

And I ran and I ran
Past the grape-vine warriors
Where they can where they can
Watch me run so glorious.

O Western Wind, bless thee!
Servant of the Viadanesé Sun.
For I’m flying for all to see
To the East to the East, though there
There is none
For me to see….

O my body! My body for I am weary!
Now to the Viadanesé Sun I turn;
Desperate; distance afar! O now I’m teary
Chasing that faint of fiery burn.

And I ran and I ran
To the West, to the West
Where I can where I can
Find the end of my quest.

O Western Wind, curse thee!
Wicked servant of no-one!
Blowing sharp fangs to stop me
Chasing the fiery gloom of the Sun.

Oh, a glowing gold medallion in the sky!
Faint, fiery, beautiful as it can be!
Fleeing from my pursuit to chase Thee,
Don’t abandon me or I will die!

And It ran and It ran,
As I madly outstretch’d my hand,
So I can so I can
Snatch it before it blacks my land.

Though It vanished so swiftly,
And now I’m left battling to see
In the darkness waiting hopelessly
As the grape-vine soldiers come after me….
