Teenage Life

One man stands by a tombstone, weeping in sorrow.
His once beautiful love now gone, leaving his heart hollow.
Wretched be his struggles throughout his life.
Now and forever, he had lost his once-to-be wife.

Crying as tears turn to moisture in the ground.
Seen by no one, no one around.
A boy cries out, "Oh God, why me?!"
Simply and truely, his answer he will see.

For in the forest lies the deer,
waiting yet so queer.
When the hunter comes out
and relinquishes the deer as it shouts.

No answer comes easy
for this boy so weary.
But for this he pray,
that he will see her again someday.

Maturity- A metaphor for adolescence

Odd how you use a widower, a grown man who has seen the height of love and the depths of dark loss, to signify the frail emotional state of teenagers. It makes sense though, what else so quickly steals innocence but death, love, and adulthood?

With all sincerity,
