of time and place
Of time and place
Often the thought comes uninvited,
to go home.
Home in this active, overfull existence,
where does it stand?
Children do not sleep there,
animals no longer wait,
for food, or praise,
or recognition.
Old bookish friends are
Long lost to
time and circumstance
and disinterest.
I once dreamt of a place;
a bringing together of dreams,
laced with ethereal music
to enchant and enhance.
A place of conversation,
not mundane rehashing
of;
the daily laundry list.
As circumstances change around me,
I do not.

Ahh but you do change in subtle ways, you might even now be changing but unaware.
change

change is not always a positive, there are things that you want to hold as essentially yours. This actually was a reaffirmation for me of what I still yearn for... a sense of home as a meeting of like minds and a deep intimacy that is associated with more space than place... do you know what I mean?
of time and place
The ever searching nature of life is revealed starkly in this poem.
It's really a classic, I think.
No answers. Just searching.
