O soul of mine, do not despair
Thy God will hear and answer prayer
Be still my soul and quietly rest
For he alone know what is best

How he doth work what he hath planned
But let thou now forgetful be
That God is Love, and he loves thee.

Remember how in days gone by
Your every need He did supply?
And how in answer to your prayer
He gave thee grace thy cross to bear?

So come, my soul, be not cast down;
'Tis not for thee to wear a frown
Rejoice! Give thanks and praise his name.
For He, thy God is still the same.

He knows, He cares and understands,
Thou art secure within His hands.
Be still, my soul, trust thou in Him,
Who is the source of peace within
