Morning has come
garage door opens
I stare at the car
thoughts running
through my mind
another day
same old thing
yet it isn't
for today wouldn't be
like yesterday
today I knew better

I get in the car
and start the engine
I too need to start
my own
time to go
breathe in some air
today is another day
I can do this
face the world with my head up

Drive through
a never ending road
bumper to bumper traffic
I must wait patiently and calmly
play some music

I look outside my window
like me everyone else
has that agenda
they must make it today
I see their faces
each one has a story to tell
I can almost hear their thoughts
feel their emotion
as I feel myself drawn into them

Time to go home
what a day its been
I open the garage door
park my car
thoughts running
through my mind

As I closed that door
I knew today had ended
just like it did yesterday
only today I knew better
