The Return into Forest

Ever ripe, ever living
Bounty of the forest kings,
Forever discovering
All nature's brightest blessings,

Antiquities' mists gather
Ancestors beat drums and dance,
Forests' bountiful cornucopeia
Once supplied every need,
Only one war, the battle of evermore
Oak King locked mortally with Holly King
Seasons turn round about the wheel
Now the trees are in retreat,

Slash and burn to fuel greed,
Yet their golden seed awaits
The turning tide inevitable
Their dominance unquestioned
Upon whom we rely, our very air,
Shall we continue to cut our throat,
Let Earth's blood flow freely,
Carrying with it the human race

Her wounds will heal as always
Millions of years are Her day,
With or without our 'green' craze
Upon Her throne She shall stay.
