Stranger
For so long this stranger refusing to see
The beauty of living the love the peace
Afraid of the fear ruled all of his days
Could not face the fear he was always afraid
Blaming resenting pushing everyone aside
His only companion in the bottle did hide
Years and years it took him to reach
An inner child still hurting tearful beseached
Little by little the child did grow
Struggle and trials strengthens a soul
Day by day now the child of past
Today is meeting the man
He's becoming...at last.....

Vic,
youve said it all for alot of people in this poem. people who struggle with addictions of all different kinds. food, drugs, alcohol and then they finally find themselves after realizing they dont have to hide behind their drug of choice.
