I Tasted The Metal (do you understand)

(this poem was REALLY posted november 20, 2007)

Like black thickened blood
Down a thin vessel of pain.

The mind is thrown from
Angle to angle, enduring sharpened crisp

Sorrows like a battered wife.

Shaken up
Like depression from a livid valve.

Smile.
The devil hates it.

Take a look in your mirror.
Make it crack.

The veins in your eyes
So defined that’s all you see.

It’s all in scrutiny.

Jump on the asphalt.
Make sure it’s real,

Then touch it.

Snap back to reality because
You’re going nowhere.

Bring your mind back
From that purple world

That exists only in the psyche
Of the depths of your dreams.

DO YOU UNDERSTAND?
You are levied between hell and Earth.

Your mother and your father.
Right and wrong.

What’s right and SIN.

Drink down the acid.
Swallow your pain.

It’s going to burn,
Taste the tart rain.

PROVOCATIVE.

You feel your chest blowing up.
So much to say

But you’re throat is cut
By your own regret.

UNFASTEN.

It’s your key to unlock
This senseless retreat less world.

STAND.

Your brain’s getting tight.
You feel something squeezing you

Behind your ears.
Shaking you.

Your hands are trembling.
Now you’re weak.

FEEL.

Find that crevice in your life
That must be filled with a certain crust of no deception.

FIND.

Undeniable strength that exists.
You’re just too tarnished and frail to understand.

wow.

wow. this is such a powerful poem.
