As parents want what’s best for their children

Watching over with encouraging eyes

Never not thinking about their future

Providing love and knowledge of the world

They want their kids to be better than them

The children gaze at the stars in wonder

To have dreams of accomplishments and more

They focus on making their dreams come true

Trying hard not be like their parents

But never forgetting the lessons learned

We can never not be like our parents

Because they are the missing part of us

That we look inside ourselves for guidance

And when they’re no longer here for support

We realize that they’re always with us
