Cherish

I cherish the things that I have in this life
I cherish my son, I cherish my wife
I cherish the love they have for me
Like the sailor for his ship, and the lure of the sea
I cherish the laughter, I cherish the pain
I cherish every link that binds our chain
I cherish the morning, I cherish the night
I cherish our flag at dawns early light
I cherish my home, I cherish my land
I cherish my job and the hammer in my hand
I cherish friends, to whom I make a toast
I cherish family, where consistency lingers most
I cherish youth, I cherish age
It seems I found another wrinkle, so I turn another page
I cherish all that was, and all that will ever be
I cherish the hope, that led myself back to me
