A Sprinkle of Stars
See the stars
Above your head,
A friend of mine once said
That they're the people you love
Who are now dead.
She told me that when people die
They become a star
High in the sky.
Those tiny dots of silver
So insignificant,
Yet so important...
Just looking at them
Makes your worries disappear,
And all of a sudden
Your mind is wonderfully clear.
A moment of clarity
And a sprinkle of stars
Is all you need,
To be in a state of bliss
And for one to succeed.
They look smaller than a mouse,
But, in actual fact,
Are bigger than a house.
The art of deception
They are very good at,
Once you've taken one look
There's no going back,
Seeing them there,
In their home so black.
The dark background
That they're always on,
As if stitched onto navy velvet
They will always belong.
In the sky at night
If you're passing through,
Just take a look above your head
And you might see someone up there
Who means a lot to you...

Star light, star bright
This was Beautiful, Jewel. There is more to the meaning of this poem than you let show. No Offence, but it almost seems like u child proofed this from what you were really thinking and wanting to say.
For all it's worth...
Thank you
Thanks for that, I know what you mean by saying I child-proofed this, sometimes you can either say exactly what you're trying to get across and spell the poem out, or you can leave something there, a few invisible lines for the reader to think about and convey their own idea about what they've just read, but it helps to know that you can see that :D ♥
beautiful poem
even i feel the same way when i look up at the sky.
the stars do remind us of the people we love, things we love doing, all the beautiful moment and all the good things
nice work!!!!
Thanks Gargi
I thought so too, and I'm glad you like it ♥
star gazing...
i like this one... a kind o' fictional yet it shows some kind of reality of life after this earthly existence.
i love the night sky just as the way you weaved the last seven lines!
clairejane
Thank you
Thanks clairejane, I wanted to finish it on a suggestive note, so I'm glad it works ♥
