Not a tiger, but striped nonetheless
on concrete and metal made extinct,
Their prehistoric look did impress
with power and savagery succinct,
A marsupial in the 'guise of a hound
now ghosts of the same are seen,
On the outskirts of any town
nightmares to some…to the Thylacine a dream.

Not around, but linger still
on campgrounds and settlements,
Giving the sane ones blood a chill
echoes of the cries of ancients,
As this predator is still viewed
by those born after nineteen thirty six,
For sanity's sake sightings are excused
yet in wild dreams…Thylacines still exist.
