running down the hall
I encounter a creature
who looks like John Madden
in combat armor
I shoot him with
the chaingun and he
explodes in little pieces
behind where he was
is the red key
what I need to
enter the warehouse
I find my way back
to the door and
as I go through
I see another soldier
who looks like
Sargent Rock gone bad
disposing of him
I climb the ladder and
find the control panel
for the bridge
now I can cross
over the valley and
look for the golden orb
my ticket to exiting
into the next level
I hear someone
call my name but
shrug it off
a hand on my shoulder
startles me so
I look up and
see my honey with
a concerned look
on her face and
feel something wet
on my cheek 'cause
I'm drooling and
in the mirror
my hollowed out eyes
look like those of a
battle weary veteran
I look around and
try to focus but it's
hard with screen glare
the clock tells me
I've been playing
for nine hours and
standing up makes my
creaky bones tell the
truth about being old
time to go to bed.......
