Frenzies of Beauty
Nature enraptured, joy unleashed
Frenzies of beauty
Meadows cloaked in orange and black
Monarch wings arise
Stars of an indigo evening
Fireflies scatter light
Banners unfurled, yellow and red
Maple leaves herald
Sifting down from heavy white clouds
Snowflakes swiftly swirl

Snow will come all too soon
Beautiful monarch butterflies are a sight to behold! We have fireflies giving us a little show every night now, but those autumn leaves will be here before we can feel ready to say goodbye to summer. Seasons passing are one of the joys of living in an area with changing temperatures. I enjoyed your walk through the seasons, Joyce.

You are a good reader as well as a writer. You are the first to comment on the four seasons. I looked it up and Monarchs migrate in both the spring and the fall. So I chose them to begin my poem - also leaves are so striking that there can't be a more frenzied beauty in fall! Thanks for your nice comment.

Joyce
You have done well to capture many natural occurances that do bring with them a sense of beauty and you were wise to stop while you were ahead.
Your good buddy,
Pete

Guess, as always, I go with brevity. My stopping place came naturally since I wrote one metaphoric frenzy per season! Thanks for your nice comment.
Your friend,

Beautiful..
Beautiful images here Joyce, and i love the line 'maples leaves herald' Not sure you need the commas at the ends of the lines though. The layout of the verse has done this for you.

thanks so much, DEbs
You are right, as usual. I am old-school so am used to seeing commas at the end of lines.
Thanks for your lovely comment.

Lovely!
I was so happy to see a poem from you tonight. And what a pleasure -- each pair of lines is a visual treat. I especially liked the image of the monarchs, and the alliteration of the last pairing is very pleasing. Thanks! -- MS

Images. A pleasure to read.

I enjoyed writing this one. God didn't make mistakes - though I sometimes wonder about the mosquito and the fly! lol
