My First Husband

Written by Joyce Greene

When I was a tot
I brought my Mom a present,
A green garter snake.
She preferred that gift a lot
To the son-in-law she got!

That is one thing my Mother

That is one thing my Mother will NEVER have to EVER worry about again. Bring on the snakes! Keep the husbands! One time was enough for me.

Cute poem.

Thanks, Miranda!

Marriage is always a gamble, sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. Parents just have to grin and bear it.

Thanks for the nice comment!

brilliant Joyce

I had to laugh at that last line Joyce a brilliant Tanka poem once again loved it from Willow

thanks, willow

Whenever I think of the incident with my mother and the snake, I always wonder about the expression she must have gotten on her face when she saw it! It wouldn't have made me very happy that's for sure! I was told about this, but don't have a conscious memory of it.

Thanks for the comment!
