Silence is Golden
"Button up your lips!"
Sound advice I give myself,
Every chance I get.
Now and then I see young girls,
With fresh faces and soft curls,
On their lips they have affixed
Silver studs or jewels, for kicks.
Should I, an old fashioned dame,
Get a stud that's much the same?
But the one on which I'm sold,
Is a button made of gold.

Brilliant Joyce
A brilliant write Joyce well written just right for the fashion today button on lip hugs from Willow
thanks, willow
I appreciate your nice comment. I wouldn't like to have actual button on my lip, just the silence it stands for. We get into so much trouble by saying things that are better left unsaid!

Well Dispensed Good Advice
Joyce,
If I could adhere to the lessons in this piece I would be much better off for it. I tend to shoot from the lip far too often and boy does my wife get on me for it. At least you never have to guess what I'm thinking!!!
Nicely written my friend,
Pete
thanks, Pete
Yes, you are very honest, and I like that in you. Thanks for the nice comment.

curls and studs
Hi Joyce -- I like the contrasting image of the girls with soft curls and studs through their lips! This is a very cute poem, and oh so true for most of us. -- MS
thanks, MS
Yes, I'm afraid most of us need something like a lip button. Thanks for the nice comment.
