two swans swim in sync
reflection in Colgate's pond
my son looks away
some freshmen on the hill wave
we will live our lives apart

Another good one Joyce

You are really getting to grips with this Tanka now Joyce well done keep writing from Willow

thanks, willow

yes, I am devoted to it now. It provides the perfect structure for great emotion. You only have to concentrate on recreating the feeling rather than worrying about how.
thanks, again, for reading and commenting.

I like the way that this piece works, a mixture of sad and happy at the same time!
You have done a great job here, very good piece.
Please contact me through my contact area on my blog, as I don't want to put my email address on this and I will get back to you,
Enjoying your work very much,
Dave

thanks, dave

I really appreciate your input. I respect your insight. Writing these things is great because you don't have to worry about the form (other than sticking to the rules), just the content and feeling. That to me, is the really important part. The Japanese always seem to come up with very efficient vehicles - lol!
