The Stealth Bomber

Once at our air shows
A giant bat flew, gliding,
To the Star Wars theme.
Now a stealthy avenger,
Its sound track is dead silence.

This is a really powerful poem, with the last line delivering quite a punch (as so many of yours do). It works well as a tanka, but I would love to see a longer version too. The images have tremendous potential, and -- selfishly -- I want more.

I'm not a very wordy person, so it might be hard to write more. I toyed with a couple of other lines added to the original tanka and found they diminished the original. I guess I'll just have to write more poems. lol
