Little girl

Far off in the distance,
A little girl cries.
There is no one beside her to wipe the tears from her eyes.

How was she left here?
Didn’t someone care?

She is such a small child,
To be left out in the wild.

Bundled under the cement stairs,
Hiding away from the evil glares.
Sweet little thing, have we met before?
Haven’t you knocked upon my door?

Sweet little girl, you must be cold.
Seeing you dirty is getting old.
It’s no place for a child, beside a road.
Someone might run over you over just like a toad.

There is darkness in growing alone,
Wouldn’t you prefer a loving home?

There is on just down the street,
A place where you can play and eat,
Most importantly a safe place to sleep,

Please little girl,
Do end up in a twirl.
Please keep yourself strong,
Then hopefully nothing will go wrong.
