Shadow man

The sleepy child in the corner,
A peep, a smile and a sigh,
Half-lidded catches briefly,
Unbidden snatches of shadow-man.

Mentally he arrays man richly,
As gently, he sways his hand,
Then it's in rags that he drapes him,
Pennance and fists raised in rage.

Marionette spectre chameleon,
Varying--yet still the same man,
The servant and then served in turn,
Deserving first, then earning not.

Yawning son gently wakens,
Gnawing his thumb,opens his eyes.
This boneless shadow man has faded,
His own dress yet unrecognized.

Liked it

I like this it reads well. Flows nicely. If you have not yet checked out Splashhall.com I suggest you do so you would be a welcomed member I believe.

"So clever, whatever, I'm done with these endeavors.
Alone I walk the winding way. It's over, no longer, I feel it growing stronger.
I'll live to die another day, until I fade away."
