You Taught Me How to Cry

I was thinking of you the other day,
About the way you made me feel
How before you came, I didn’t know,
That the hurt after love was real

You taught me how to love,
And you taught me how to lie,
But on that day I lost you,
You taught me how to cry.

The pain was overwhelming,
The hurt, I couldn’t bare,
And when it was clear that you were gone,
I suddenly felt scared.

I was thinking of you the other day,
About the way you made me feel
How before you left, I couldn’t help,
But believe true love was real.

Butterflies in my stomach,
Not knowing what to say,
You taught me how to feel things,
In a very awkward way

But you taught me that these feelings,
Would only last so long,
Because that person you once knew,
Would one day change and move on.

You taught me how to lose,
When we finally said goodbye,
And on that very day,
You taught me how to cry.
