Dear God, please tell me what to say
I am down on my knees ready to pray
Take my son and in your sweet embrace
Give him strength so he is able to face
All this worry and terrible stress
Take his heart and lovingly caress
You are the only one who can make all right
Give him back his life and make it shine bright
Don’t let him ever lose his spirit
Or be afraid or scared or fear it
I gave him life and he is a beautiful being
Ease his mind and make his life freeing
Please God, I don’t know what else to do
I have been putting all my faith into you
I understand life isn’t always so fair
But my son has had way more than his share
If I may, I’m asking for some kind of direction
So that he may have your gracious protection
Please, if you can God, let me bear his pain
And only let his pleasure remain
I love him and he’s a part of my heart
Dear God, please give him a brand new start!
