Flower Party

Please come to this party one and all
Spring has arrived and I hear its call
The canvas is laid out for all to see
All the colors of paint are soon to be.

Crocus’, pop up their cute little heads
Like they’ve been hiding under their covers in bed
The first to arrive as I look out the door
Spreading pinks, purples and yellows galore.

As if to softly whisper a gracious hello
Here come the daffodils ready to grow
Standing so tall and erect as they do
Coming back this year, so tried and true.

On come the tulips so hearty and strong
They come to the party but don’t stay too long
The pansies are giddy and mingling around
They’re giggling so loud, I can’t hear a sound.

The violets are spreading and dropping their seed
Not answering the door to one single weed
Coming all dressed in a delicate hue
White crowns they adorn, but generally blue.

The lily’s don’t arrive until quarter of eight
They’ve been advised to come fashionably late
They saunter on in and eat the hor’ deurves
Showing off all of their long, legged curves.

The party continues with the perennial blends
Inviting the annuals, and to bring on their friends
To this grand open house anyone can come
You don’t even need to have a green thumb!
