To the little one
I never knew
Or even had to hold
You are in my thoughts so often
My sad story, never told.
Tell me, are your eyes
Of blue or maybe olive green?
Is there a curl upon your head?
Sweet baby, I have not seen.
Did you know me well?
For I knew you, little babe of mine
Did you hear me say I love you
Feel my heartbeat all the time?
I never saw your rosebud lips
Or heard your gentle cry
Held your tiny little hand in mine
Sang you a lullaby.
When I arrive in Heaven
I’m sure you’ll know it’s me
I’ll be running towards you
And happy we will be.

vic, i have been carrying this inside me for so long also, until yesterday when i wrote this poem. its amazing how much better i feel. almost like i wrote a letter to my baby after the miscarriage.

Really beautiful, Linda. A truly special tribute to make, and like you say an almost carthartic experience having written it. I actually didnt know weather to comment this or not, i have the tendency to put my foot in it bit with my words sometimes! but always with well meaning.lol

its amazing to me how good it feels to have written this. it made me cry through every written word but in the end it felt so cleansing. i have only been "into" poetry for about a year but its been so awesome what ive discovered from it.
