MONTALCINO

Red and pink sunsets
amid Tuscan skies
through clustering cypress trees
is where my heart lies.

Terra cotta tiled roofs,
and the flourishing vines,
luxurious surroundings
harvest of the wine.

Countrymen pedaling
on old fashioned bikes
down a curvy dirt path
many wanderlust hikes.

Sunflower crops, radiating
colors of yellow and gold
fields of luminous faces
such a sight to behold.

Among the village housetops
A most colorful sight of fun
Laundry hanging all around
Drying in the sun.

Winding up the hillside
toward the tiny town
ancient olive orchards
wafting all around.

God was in the plaster
of every church I saw
stories of the gospels
told there, in the raw.

If your’e very lucky
Tuscany is a dream
that will keep you returning
to this place, of love supreme.

Amazing piece my friend

Linda, you have missed your calling, you should be a copywriter for a travelogue. Italy wouldn't be able to handle all of the tourists if you were.

Feeling Wanderlust,

Pete
