~ Sometimes ~

Sometimes, I just want to
melt away...
like the last remnants of
dirty snow along the curb,
or disappear like the sun
into the ocean at dusk.

or skate away, on a river
so fast and so hard
in one direction,
and never look back.

or get on my old bicycle
and pedal up the steep hill,
til it kills me and then
glide all the way down
to China.

or go to the airport
blind folded, and buy a
ticket to somewhere and
get on a plane,
and go and live in
some random place…
where no one knows me.

and sometimes I feel like going to
the movie theatre and jumping
into the movie screen, right there...
where they are, and be those people
in the movie, and never come back…..

Don't we all go thru some of

Don't we all go thru some of the emotions you described.Good poem Linda

Oh man how I can relate

Linda,

You ain't telling me nothing that I haven't thought about over and over in my little pea brain. Somehow reality always takes command and here I sit...but I have my dreams to refer to.

Pete

yeah

i think people only run away in books i read, or in the movies....
and yes, reality sets in. maybe its a good thing
thanks for understanding pete
Linda

When you melt away...

You're escaping into another reality. Someplace other than the stressful place you're in. Someplace safe.
We all need a place to escape to...be it books, or movies, poetry, or what have you. Just to get away for awhile.
I really liked where your thoughts led you on this one. Well-worded - TJ

Thank you for the sweet comments!
i guess we all do need a safe place. even if its only in our minds...
my favorite is jumping into the movie and being them....
Linda

I did just that once Linda

I did get on my bicycle once Linda and peddled, just wanted to get away not knowing where I was going and took nothing with me no money, or suitcase nothing ,
I went as far as 1 mile never made it to China, got a puncture and had to walk back again,
maybe it was my Guardian Angel looking after me lol. it just wasn`t to be,by the time I fixed the puncture I felt better.
so I can well relate to your poem great write hugs from Willow
