THE FARM
The Farm
by linda r. o’connell
How nice it would be to live on a farm
In a grand old house with a big ol’ barn
And acres and acres of rich soiled land
Eating fruits and vegetables, out of our hands.
I’d have one adorable cow for they are so sweet
They have a personality that can not be beat
I’d call her “Nutmeg” and she would come running
God, I love cows, they’re just so damn cunning!
I’d get some chickens and build a huge coop
I’d use their eggs, not them, for chicken soup
I’d have a ‘funky” goat for the laughs of course
And an animal to ride like a big brown horse.
Pigs are the best , I’d have one of those
And maybe a couple of bunnies I suppose
A bunch of cats and plenty of bees
So we could have honey anytime we please.
Eight or nine dogs would really be cool
They could follow the kids when they walk to school
Id need a cowboy to show me the ropes
In case things got too hard and I couldn’t cope…
I’d bake homemade pies and biscuits for us
I love to cook it would not feel like stress
The kitchen would have such a wonderful smell
When it was time to eat I would ring that loud bell
We’d sit around a farm table and say our prayers
Be happy we had each other and not many cares
Talk to each other no computers no phones
Wed all be together and never feel alone.
Doesn’t it sound peaceful to live life this way?
I’d do it in a minute if I had my say
But we have our own business and have to stay here
This will be my dream that I will always hold dear.

A nice poem Linda, you can probably have Big Brown the racehorse after the way he ran the other day, also can you make cicken soup out of eggs and not the actual chicken? I think I could live on a farm like this, without the cowboy of course.
Andrew

I guess i meant id use their eggs for a bunch of stuff but not {them, the chickens themselves} to roast a chicken,,,,
hey, i could use the eggs for my Zabaglione...(my other new poem...) great idea!!!!
