The Reunion

I went to my high school reunion last night
And never expected to have such a fright.
The big man on campus, he didn’t have hair
The homecoming queen was shaped like a pear.

The quarterback’s physique had totally died
It looked like he had ten footballs inside.
The cheerleaders all looked like they couldn’t jump
I hate to say it but they were all plump.

The class clown was still funny and had so much wit
There wasn’t one person there who had a bad zit.
But a few had some wrinkles and I saw sagging skin
I think I even saw three double chins.

It doesn’t matter to me if they’re fat or not smart
Because, honestly I only see with my heart.
We all have been thin and we all have been fat
But we are all still the same person, no matter what!

good poem Linda

I liked this one Linda so true we all change through life I think we remember people as they were, when we last saw them,
and it is a shock when you see them after a few years but then they must think the same of us too,
great write from Willow

high school, bah humbug!

Glad high school is over, frankly. Not my favorite time. It was interesting going to the reunion though and seeing how everyone was doing. Thanks for a funny poem, Linda.
