Sometimes, after making love
We lay there content in knowing what we have
I sit back and I think of what you mean to me
And how my body melds with yours so perfectly
Your familiar touch mirrors mine
Your heartbeat is my heartbeat
My skin is your skin
Like a worn leather glove
And droplets of sweat, whose are they?
It doesn’t really matter, we are one together
You breathe in and I breathe out
Legs tangle and arms entwine,
Your limbs are mine and mine are yours.
Your eyes confide in my eyes
Your sentiments are mine and all knowing
Like a well loved book you keep reading over and over
I love you more now than in the beginning
With all that electricity fogging up our brains
I can see more clearly now, I know you by heart
We have comfort and strength together
My worries are yours and yours are mine
My tears fall from your eyes
And our hopes and dreams are as compatible as we are
And I know with my heart, this is love.
