Another Nightmare

ANOTHER NIGHTMARE
As the rain taps on the tiles,
And a growl breaks the thunder,
My terror keeps mounting, While
All outside’s torn asunder.
Claws splinter the cellar door,
It crashes down the stairwell,
Descending upon all-fours,
Searching for me, just by smell.
Bursts of hot, putrefied breath
Stalking closer, it’s found me,
It lunges this is my death!
Awake, sweating, now I breathe.

It’s just another nightmare.
