A Fatal Revelation
Cold steel bars
I’m awaiting perdition,
A week away
From social correction.
Does god above
Care if I live or die?
Do I deserve?
Redemption in the sky?
When I did cause
A life to spill undone,
And with glee
I did it just for fun.
Then was caught
And sent inside to wait,
Chemicals
Will surge and seal my fate.
The priest arrives
And offers my last rites,
My final meal
Begins my final night.
Chained, shackled
Shuffling this walk,
Held both sides
Remaining time is short.
Chair of death
Into it I am strapped,
Pins to kill
Into my arms, get jabbed.
Final words
I speak if I have them,
Apologies
Of corrupt and evil men.
Sweat rolls down
And now it’s all too real,
Light fading
Existence now surreal.
Now I know
The value of my life,
Just the same
As the victim of this strife.
