Friday's Eyes
Friday’s jubilant tradition
Is upon us once again,
After work inebriation
Starts with one and ends with ten.
Now the working week’s concluded
And I’ve drunk way too many,
Taking roads I find secluded
Except for that family.
Roads of ruin through Friday’s eyes.
Law enforcement taking statements
I can barely stand-up straight,
Now awaiting my arraignment
How much will I have to pay?
To secure my own freedom
Till a jury does decide,
That my freedom should be seldom
Cause I do it all the time.
Roads of ruin through Friday’s eyes.
A decade incarcerated
Parole gets me out early,
You see I’m now some what jaded
Cause they released the likes of me.
For crying out loud, for Christ’s sake
I murdered four loving lives,
Is it not my warranted fate?
To stay caged until I die.
The road to ruin should coin my eyes.
