If Love Could Pull Me Through (Chapter 4)
She was the queen of everyone I saw
She held my heart within her hand,
She could ask for anything and get it
I was a slave to her command.
She was a stoner just the same as me
But maybe she was even worse,
After I got my talons sunk under
Her skin, so I could lay my curse.
I wanted to be out
I wanted something new,
I would’ve payed the price
If love could pull me through.
Not another smoke as a stonned couple
Barely a dislike, shared the same,
And when I broke it off, she took it bad
So I became branded for pain.
Almost straight away the assaults began
Starting with bottles thrown from cars,
That’s the main reason why I never let
That many people in, too far.
I wanted to be out
I wanted something new,
I would’ve payed the price
If love could pull me through,
If love could pull me through,
If love could pull me through,
To something so much more
Than what I had with you.

Footprint!
A really heartfelt piece this one. People are just nuts when it comes to love!
I like the shape of the poem- if it wasnt for the line 'Then we quit the..'
It would be a beautiful footprint. At least the 2nd 3rd and 4th stanza's.
Bless you.
Deborah
Thank you
I appreciate the kind words.
It's just another chapter in this ever growing story.
