Seven Days To Life

While the rain-forests dwindle
And the polar-caps melt,
We extinguish life’s’ candle
And gamble what we’re dealt.
Though one day we’ll lose the hand
Once we have thrown all in,
And we’ll also lose this land
As payment for our sins.

While the oceans slowly heat
Another species dies,
In little under one week
Another life denied.
Now the problem here today
Is resting in our hands,
In another seven days
The life denied is mans.
